Smart, Energy-Efficient, Eco-Friendly Interior Designs that Create and Protect Your Investment

New trends and traditions are created every second, but one trend the design community, and our clients, must embrace is green design. I am devoted to assuring that my clients, and my projects, are sensitive to the environment and are energy efficient. Green design emphasizes sustainability as well as these principles specifying and using products that can be recycled, are environmentally safe and do not emit toxic gases. You probably have read about, and have seen, buildings enhanced by green design.

Green design can be practiced by everyone. Being aware of the products available that promote these best practices can go a long way in preserving our environment.

Some of the trends in building and design:

  • Buildings with more direct lighting from outside, creating energy efficiency and a pleasant workspace.
  • Lighting and thermostats that regulate lighting and room temperature at various hours of the day, based on the outside lighting and temperature.
  • Carpet and flooring that do not emit toxic fumes.
  • Anti-bacterial products in schools and public facilities, reducing the opportunities for germs in high-traffic areas.
  • Varying ceiling levels in buildings and residences. Ask yourself - Do you really need a two-story foyer? The heating and cooling costs are enormous.
  • Paint and wallcovering producers and vendors are introducing new products that eliminate toxic fumes.
  • Efficient space planning, reducing the amount of materials required for building.
